The Lead Foundation
The Lead Foundation is an Egyptian non-governmental organization (NGO) founded in 2003 under NGO law number 84/2002, by a group of leading private sector businessmen, with the objective of taking an active role in the economic and social development of the country. The Board of Directors of the Foundation represents a selection of Egypt's most prominent industrialists, and Lead Foundation is the expression of their recognition that for development initiatives to be successful they must be led and supported by the private sector. The Foundation was initially established with contributions from the Egyptian private sector and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), with support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
